Any .zip file you download is a zip file, produced by WINZIP 7.X.

Any .pdf file you download needs Adobe Acrobat Reader

Assume the name of the file is "project.zip". Put "project.zip" in an empty directory (for convenience). Then do a right mouse click on the icon for "project.zip", and select "extract to". This will bring up the WINZIP program. Choose "extract" from the WINZIP menu, and select for the target directory the directory that "project.zip" is in. This will extract and decompress the collection of files. Do not assume that a subdirectory inside your target directory will be created.
